I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne Stephens last summer at a local support group, where we both shared tools for those dealing with the challenges of lupus. I was enchanted by her gentle nature, enthusiasm, and breadth of knowledge that she has gained through study as well as her personal experience living (and thriving) with Multiple Sclerosis.
I was thrilled to hear about Suzanne’s class specifically designed for those dealing with chronic health conditions, and couldn’t wait to pass this along. This class (aptly named “Yoga Empowered for Chronic Conditions”) combines the health benefits of yoga with simple tools that anyone can use at home (not to mention, Suzanne’s vibrant presence, which is healing in itself!).
As Suzanne describes, “Many of us live with chronic illness, chronic stress and/or other chronic health challenges. Come refill your well. Practice gentle asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. Each class is designed to replenish and refresh body, mind and spirit.”
When: Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 12:00–1:15pm
Where: Red Square Yoga (Queen Anne– Seattle)
Who: Those living with chronic health challenges/chronic stress, as well as caregivers.
Cost: Suggested donation of $12.00
Note: Pre-Registration is preferred for this class. Please contact Suzanne to register or for any questions or concerns.
Suzanne is very generous with information, and one can learn a tremendous amount simply by visiting her website alone. Here is an example of Suzanne’s techniques, which can start “inspiring” you right now…

Some of you may know that I recently attended a workshop/retreat with the absolutely amazing teacher and practitioner, Jean Haner (author of “The Wisdom of Your Face” and “The Wisdom of Your Child’s Face”). I gained so much insight during those four days, that it honestly changed my life.
